New Developments in the Bay Area

Over 2,500 New Homes in San Ramon

Sunset Development Company has unveiled refreshed plans for The Orchards, a massive 90-acre redevelopment in San Ramon that will bring over 2,500 new homes to the former Chevron Park site.

A standout feature is the wide variety of low-rise housing, including 130 single-family homes, 42 court houses with ADUs, 58 row homes, and 138 townhomes.

These homes will be part of a thoughtfully planned neighborhood district, while other areas will include multi-family buildings and a mixed-use zone with apartments above retail.

The project also features a community park, integrated parking, and walkable access to nearby transit and amenities at Bishop Ranch.

240 New Homes Approved in Sunnyvale

Sunnyvale has approved a major new housing project at 777 Sunnyvale Saratoga Road, which will add over 240 homes to the area.

The plan includes a 75-foot apartment building with 162 units (ranging from studios to three-bedrooms) and 80 townhomes.

Designed by Studio T Square, the project will offer parking for 281 cars and 212 bicycles on a 5.24-acre triangular site.

It’s located near retail centers and is a ten-minute ride from the Sunnyvale Caltrain Station.

2nd Phase of North 40 Project Moves Forward

Los Gatos is reviewing the second phase of the North 40 development, which proposes 450 new homes and over 15,000 square feet of retail space.

The plan includes 127 townhomes, around 250 apartments, and 77 affordable units—16 of which are reserved for adults with disabilities—spread across 15.6 acres with 768 parking spaces.

Developers have also allocated 8 acres for open space while choosing to work within local zoning processes.

This phase follows a 2017 approval of 320 homes and highlights the town’s broader goal of building nearly 2,000 homes by 2031.

Find Out Which Bay Area City Is the Healthiest in the U.S.

According to Wallethub’s 2025 rankings, San Francisco just claimed the top spot as the healthiest city in the U.S., beating out more than 180 others with a score of 68.05.

What’s the secret? A super low obesity rate (just 18%), easy access to green spaces (literally 100% of residents live near a park) and an urban layout that makes walking and biking easy.

And it’s not just SF: San Jose came in at #22 with the lowest premature-death rate nationwide, while Fremont and Oakland also cracked the top 25.

The Bay Area seems to be doing something right!

Robots Are Invading the Kitchen!

The Bay Area is getting a futuristic flavor boost, and this time it's not just from the food.

In San Mateo, the new OLHSO restaurant is turning heads with its robot-powered Korean BBQ and seafood hot pot.

While not fully automated, the robots handle everything from grabbing ingredients to stir-frying meals based on finely tuned algorithms.

Meanwhile, in downtown San Francisco, a robot bartender nicknamed “Scorpion” is mixing drinks with style.

Set up at the GEN AI Loft, this AI-powered machine listens to drink requests, whips up the perfect pour, and even cleans up after itself. Visitors are loving the speed, novelty, and taste, all served with a splash of cutting-edge tech.

As robots slide behind the counter, it’s worth asking: is this just a fun novelty, or the start of something bigger?
