Residential Duplexes to Replace Sacramento Offices

2415 K Street via Google Maps

A new housing development has been proposed for 2415 K Street in Sacramento. The plan outlines the construction of a residential complex featuring ten duplex residences available for purchase. Currently, the site is occupied by a vacant office building, which is set to be demolished.

Covering approximately 0.49 acres, the development will introduce a total of 20 housing units across the ten duplexes. The project application has been submitted and is pending review and approval. The existing office building on-site measures 6,240 square feet, and the property includes parking for 15 vehicles. The demolition of the current structure will require separate permits.

At this time, no construction timeline or design plans have been released.

New Hotel Approved for Downtown Half Moon Bay

Hotel rendering of Hyatt Place Proposal via Axis GFA

The Half Moon Bay City Council has approved a new hotel at 1200 Main Street, transforming a former auto dealership into a 129-room development after nearly a decade of discussions. Greg Jamison of RGJC South LLC is leading the project.

Despite initial pushback from the Planning Commission, the City Council unanimously approved the Environmental Impact Report (EIR), which includes mitigation measures and monitoring plans.

Designed by AXIS/GFA Architecture and Design, the 66,270-square-foot hotel will feature 102 rooms and 108 parking spaces. The design embraces a ‘Farmhouse Modern’ style, incorporating wood, stone panels, board-formed concrete, and metal roofing to reflect the city’s rural heritage.

Situated on a five-acre lot near Highway 1, the project includes two acres for habitat restoration and a natural buffer zone. There is also potential for 16 future residential units along Seymour Street. Guests will be within a 25-minute walk to Poplar Beach and close to downtown.

Construction is expected to take 18 months, with work set to begin within the next five years.

252-Unit Residential Project Coming to Midtown Sacramento

Voit Company has proposed a 252-unit residential project at 1900 Capitol Avenue in Midtown Sacramento. The development consists of two eight-story buildings reaching 85 feet tall with a total of 263,200 square feet.

The unit mix includes 22 studios, 172 one-bedrooms, and 58 two-bedrooms. Parking will feature 155 car spaces (using mechanized stackers) and 232 bicycle spaces.

Designed by LPAS Architecture + Design, the buildings will incorporate plaster, metal panels, lap-board siding, and red/tan bricks for a modern aesthetic. Large floor-to-ceiling windows will activate the street-level experience.

Amenities include a third-floor courtyard with seating, planters, and dining areas, plus an eighth-floor rooftop deck in the north building overlooking Capitol Avenue. Additional features include a fitness studio, yoga room, and co-working lounge.

The 1.175-acre site, bordered by 19th Street, Capitol Avenue, N Street, and the Western Pacific Railroad, will preserve the Matsui Alley cut-through.

This project will contribute to Midtown Sacramento’s urban infill, but construction timelines and cost estimates have not yet been announced.
